The Last of A New Age!!

Well, I recently finished my fourth and final New Age Block of the Month Customer quilt.  Phew!!!!  They all turned out wonderfully, and ended up being all so different from each other.  I thought you might like to see them all together and see how different they are.  Pattern is by Nancy Rink.

This latest one belongs to Janet and she designed and added borders to make it larger!!  It turned out wonderful!!!

This next one belongs to Peggy.

Then this one belongs to Virginia.

The last one belongs to Eileen and she wanted to go with a Southwest look.

Here they are all together……

It just goes to show you how the same quilt pattern can turn out such different and beautiful quilts!!!  It makes me think of people…..and how we are all the same….yet different….and that’s the beauty of the human race!!!!

Happy Quilting!!!

Merry Christmas and some Eye Candy!!!

Merry Christmas to everyone!!!  I hope that you have a safe, happy and healthy Holiday season!!!

I haven’t had much time to write lately, but I wanted to share a few quilts with you that I recently worked on. I hope you enjoy the eye candy!!!

Here is Debbie’s quilt, which she patiently waited until I could use it to practice computerized edge to edge quilting on the ProStitcher!!  I had been putting this off for awhile, as it was a little intimidating for this free motion girl, but I have to say it went better than I anticipated.  Debbie did a really beautiful job making this quilt!!!

This next quilt is from Pat.  We decided that we would keep it fairly simple as far as quilting goes, as it was going to her son, we didn’t think he would appreciate too much custom work.

This last quilt is from Nancy.  This is called Sea of Love (It’s a play on Storm at Sea) and we wanted everything except the hearts to be flowing!!  I think it worked!!

Again, I wish you all a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

Happy Quilting!!!!

A Summer of Fun Quilting!!

It has definitely been a Summer of Fun Quilting!!! And it is so hard to believe that Summer is coming to an end!!  It is already feeling cooler in the evenings.  Pretty soon it will be jeans and sweatshirt time……and wrapping up in quilts time!!

We recently had the Maryland State Fair and I wanted to wish a big congratulations to the winners!!  Unfortunately, I did not make it up to see them this year, but here are a few pictures that were taken by someone else.

I was thrilled with the ribbons I won, and was totally surprised to get them.

I have been busy quilting and trying to stay on schedule.  Here is a recent quilt that was just finished.  It is a New Age Block of the Month..20160907_103350_resized

A friend of mine recently let me go through all of her vintage linens, so as a thank you, I made this for her from one of the linens that was in the bag.  I love how these vintage pieces are able to be made into other pieces that can be used instead of being in a closet somewhere!!

For Handi Quilter, I have to be able to teach many classes, so I have been busy writing lesson plans and preparing student handouts and making samples for these classes.  Here are a couple of the samples I have recently completed.

Some things you can do besides quilting on a long arm….weaving and chenille.

Start with a simple stencil and expand what you can do with it!

There has been a lot going on here.  I have been working on a lot of teacher proposals and am happy to say that so far I have been asked to teach at:  Birds of a Feather and MQX  New Hampshire.  I still have some more proposals to send and then I also have my Handi Quilter events.  I am fortunate through them to be teaching at Original Sewing & Quilt Expo in Schaumburg, Illinois in October 2016, and have been assigned to teach at a show in Karlsruhe, Germany in 2017.  I have to say, I am pretty excited about that!!!!

I am off tomorrow to work at AQS Chattanooga and you can find me in the Handi Quilter Booth there!!  I will try to take some pictures and post when I get a chance, although they will most likely be posted on my Instagram account or my Facebook page sooner, so if you don’t already follow me there, please make sure you do. Debbie’s Christmas Quilt!!

This happy quilt was made by Ellen!

My customer Beth, from Texas, had me quilt this quilt for her awhile back.  She recently posted this picture on Instagram of the quilt on her bed, and how she decorated her room around the quilt…..and even painted a picture to hang above the bed!!

These next two quilts are from Moda.  The first is a Holly Taylor Christmas quilt that is travelling in a Moda trunk show.  The second one is from Erin Michaels and is cats….using cat fabric that she designed.
